Hot Air Balloons

“No matter what you eat, how much you exercise, how skinny or young or strong you are, none of it matters if you’re not breathing properly.”

- James Nestor, author of New York Times Bestseller, "Breathe"

Buteyko breathing

Michael first began studying and practicing the Buteyko method in 2018, when he discovered the method as part of his practice of Taoism.  He noticed that the Buteyko method was a modern scientific approach to the ancient healing art of reduced breathing.

Michael later became certified as an Oxygen Advantage Functional Breathing Coach, through the Patrick Mckeown coaching program in 2022.  The Oxygen Advantage is a series of unique breathing exercises for optimum physical and mental health, and sports performance.

Learn how to:

breathe with more ease

boost oxygen delivery

open your airways

strengthen your core

get deep, restful sleep

calm your mind

and feel happier, healthier and stronger.

Buteyko (pronounced Bu-tay-ko) is a breathing technique that promotes nose-breathing and reducing the amount of air taken in while inhaling.

For example, many people with breathing problems tend to respond to everyday situations such as walking uphill or talking on the telephone by automatically breathing more than is necessary. This is called over-breathing or hyper-ventilating.

The Buteyko exercises provide you with the skills to be able to breathe correctly in these situations, and this prevents the development of a vicious cycle of over-breathing which can result in breathlessness, wheezing or coughing.

The technique originates from Russia and was named after the Ukrainian doctor, Konstantin Buteyko, who first developed the techniques during the 1950s.

Online Yoga

True Breathing is a Taoist term for a kind of subtle breathing. It was known in ancient China to still the mind and heal the body.

Modern science has revealed some of the mechanisms for how quieting our breathing can calm the mind and heal the body through improved circulation and increased oxygenation of our body at the cellular level.

I enjoy teaching this ancient healing practice, and explaining how it works in modern, scientific language.

True Breathing is very helpful for quieting the noisy minds of people experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. Many people with chronic health conditions find relief with True Breathing.

And in its original application, True Breathing can be very helpful for entering advanced meditative states much more easily and quickly than is possible with mainstream meditative techniques.
